"Dark Sky Celebration and Star Party" at Wallowa Lake State Park, Saturday, July 11, 2026

​

• This is a family-centered events, all free, no registration required. In years past we have noticed that children about age 8 and above enjoy the event, but all are welcome.

• Introduction to stargazing presentation at the WLSP Amphitheater. 8:15 pm - 9:00 pm.

• Star Party, WLSP Lakeside Day Use Area. 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm.

• The events are sponsored by Wallowa Lake State Park and Wallowology Natural History Discovery Center.

• The presentation will proceed regardless of weather. The star party is dependent on clear skies. We do not have back up dates.

• A final GO/NO GO decision will be announced here by 6:00 pm on July 21.

Information for Those Who Want to Volunteer

​

• Volunteers will receive training and will help with the events listed above.

• Volunteers will also get a "special" dark-sky star party just for them!

• Contact me for more information about volunteering.

• Contact me to sign up to be a volunteer. I will provide you with the details.

• The volunteer events are dependent on clear skies. We do not have back up dates.

• I am available, for hire, by families or groups for private star parties.

• I am in Wallowa County early July 12 - mid August.
