"Dark Sky Celebration and Star Party" at Wallowa Lake State Park, Saturday, August 7, 2026

This is a family-centered events, all free, no registration required. In years past we have noticed that children about age 8 and above enjoy the event, but all are welcome.

Introduction to stargazing presentation at the WLSP Amphitheater. 8:15 pm - 9:00 pm. (tentative, check times)

Star Party, WLSP Lakeside Day Use Area. 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm. (tentative, check times)

The events are sponsored by Wallowa Lake State Park and Wallowology Natural History Discovery Center.

The presentation will proceed regardless of weather. The star party is dependent on clear skies. We do not have back up dates.

A final GO/NO GO decision will be announced here by 6:00 pm on August 7, 2026.
Information for Those Who Want to Volunteer

Volunteers will receive training and will help with the events listed above.

Volunteers will also get a "special" dark-sky star party just for them!
