Minato's Math Lab is an extension of Minato's Math Mentoring. If you have not read that page, do so now then come back here.

Minato's Math Lab is a place where students can work on their iXL work with a handful (eight maximum) of other students and with supervision by Joe Minato. The goal is to boost fundamental math skills and get up to grade level. The intent of Math Lab is not to work on homework in a math class. Sign up for regular tutoring with me and/or come to the Smart City Learning Cafe for that.

1. Many students and parents report that Minato's Math Mentoring would work better for them if the student was held accountable for doing their independent work. They also say that this is just too hard with a busy schedule.

2. I will open my office to up to eight students for 90 minutes per week as Minato's Math Lab. Students will come and work on their iXL under my supervision. I need a minimum of four students to run this program.

3. The fee is paid in advance. There are no refunds for missing an individual day. 

   1. ​$180 for a six week session, 9 hours total for existing tutoring students of mine.

   2. $240 for a six week session, 9 hours total for students not being tutored by me.

4. The six week sessions for Winter-Spring 2025 are:

   1. Dates for Session #1 are Sundays, 4:00 - 5:30 pm.​

   2. Session #1: February 2, 9, (skip 16), 24, March 3, 10, 17

   3. If Session #1 is successful, I will proceed:

   4. Session #2: Likely dates. March 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5. Day of week and time to be determined.

   5. Session #3: Likely dates. May 12, 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16; Day of week and time to be determined.

5. ​Occasionally Joe may be absent and will have a qualified substitute.
